Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) or formerly known as Saigon is the city of commerce, culture and full of rich history. It is the most populated and largest city in Vietnam with a population of 8.4 million as of 2016.
In the core of the Mekong Delta, Ho Chi Minh City is the second most important city in Vietnam after Hanoi. It's not only a commercial center but also a scientific, technological, industrial and tourist center. The city is bathed by many rivers, streams, canals and the biggest river - the Saigon River. The Port of Saigon, established in 1862, is accessible to ships weighning up to 30,000 tons which is a rare advantage of an inland river port.
